Parish School of Religion
Just what is that? Until recent years our parish religion program was referred to as the CCD program. When asked what the letters stood for few could answer the question without a reference book. The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine program now carries the name Parish School of Religion (PSR). Our parish is blessed with a wonderful Catholic school, SPPS, where the children are taught religion throughout the day as well as their other subjects. PSR is for the parish children who attend one of the public schools in our area. These children gather on Wednesday evenings for religious instructions. PSR is staffed by twenty two volunteers. Most of these volunteers are a parent, grandparent or sibling of a child in the program. Most of the volunteers work out of the home, volunteer in other ministries in the parish, serve in their local community and school. We have 122 children in grades 1-8 and over one hundred high school youth attending this program. As our program continues to grow the need for more volunteers increases. If you feel called to this ministry Join our TEAM - call today 523-5078.
